One day at approximately 2:40 Texas time, 8:40 Britain, we were peacefully watching THUNDERDOME, caramelldansen and daft punk hands with many guests, while suddenly Jshaw995 started banning guests and users like a motherfucker.


I then quickly tried to stop him, but it was too late. Everyone was confused in swearbox and I didn't have many cookies


There used to be a day when I had control over other users. During those times I had highly prohibited users from banning guests. They listened to me, but now I have no power whatsoever. I believe guests are the best asset for the website. I have an idea that might be helpful for the wetgenes population(Increase population).

Guests should be able to stay a bit more time, by that I mean make them "un-bannable" from users for at least 15 mins, unless they spam or abuse other loopholes. By guests, I mean, Individual, new and "unique" users. IP checking should be a good way to monitor the system. Again, I believe this can increase the population. Of course, we need more advertising, but thats why we have dark and 4chon.

Lets discuss this.

In my most humble of opinion, the real issue is the abysmal new user experience. Tv is not very intuitive, and requires significant help from a more experienced user. Combine this with the way users blindly stumble in and you get a lot of work for regular users.

If A user or group of users won't sign up, I'm usually not willing to spend the time on them in the hopes that they will eventually come back.


A Help or 'wtf is this' button on the login screen and a Large and obvious wtf/help button on chat that appears for only guests would help far more than giving guests an immunity so they can stumble around in the dark for an extra 30 seconds.

Tiny green help button gets lost, plus theres a wall of text in there.

Wiki is helpful but it has more walls of text.

Users need a decent brief and simple explanation in plain view.

from eons of observations, noone likes to be told what to do and when someone asks for help, it's unlikely they will listen/read.

ever tried responding to dorky/entombor2's help requests? loop of hell o' yonder.

thus, those who seek help will seek it on their own accord.

more importantly, we want the users to help each other. tis how it's designed.
